I’ve been sending this list out for some time now, so I figured I’ll just publish it. A belief I’ve been holding for a long time is that you can read something / talk to someone where you don’t agree with 95% of the content and still learn something extremely valuable. It’s up to you pick out valuable information. Focussing on what’s invaluable to you seems a little pointless.
Reflection Reading List
Thinking about work & life in general. I’m aware I live in a bubble 😉
- Markus Müller - 4 self reflection loops (if you’re only going to read one of them)
 - WaitButWhy - How to Pick a Career (great to start if you want to work through the whole list; worksheet)
 - Mark Manson - The subtle art of not giving a fuck (one word summary: focus)
 - Jocko Willink - Extreme Ownership (luckily most of us will not have to own anything remotely as difficult)
 - Shane Parrish - Fatnam Street (start here: how to decide)
 - Question regarding hiring I saw in some video of Elon Musk: "What did you do at key life transitions?"
 - Notboring - Crypto Bezos (you can read this regardless of your feelings toward crypto)
 - Eric Jorgenson/Naval Ravikant - Navalamanac (good heuristics, not so sure about the dietary advice)
 - Tim Ferris - Fear Setting (good exercise if you have ~1h)
 - Charlie Munger - Poor Charlie's Almanack
 - Kurzgesagt - Optimistic Nihilism

Honorable Mentions
- Richard Feynman - The Feynman Lectures on Physics
 - Matt Mochary - The Great CEO Within (very founder specific)
 - Caroline Criado-Perez - Invisible Women (good read for male engineers)
 - John Doerr - Speed & Scale (OKRs for fixing the climate crisis)
